This course will give students an introduction to topometry optimization. Students will learn topometry optimization concepts and will work with several hands-on exercises. Students will learn how to interpret and use topometry optimization results. During the class, students will be exposed to industrial applications and examples.
A basic knowledge of finite element analysis
Topometry optimization concepts
Topometry pre- and post-processing using Design Studio
Topometry results visualization with Design Studio
Sizing optimization
Topometry optimization with manufacturing constraints
Creating CAD surface mesh from topometry results
Mode shape optimization, Weld location optimization and other special topics
The instructor will present teaching material and solve examples
Hands-on exercises will be solved by the students assisted by instructor
